Peacebuilding & Community Cohesion
Agago District, like much of Northern Uganda, bears the scars of past conflict. Despite the return to peace, communities still face social tensions, trauma, and deep-seated divisions that hinder collective development.
Access Centre Uganda facilitates peacebuilding and reconciliation processes that heal wounds, restore dignity, and promote unity. Our interventions include:
-
Community dialogue forums on peace, justice, and reconciliation
-
Intergenerational and intercultural exchanges to rebuild trust
-
Peace education and trauma healing workshops
-
Youth-led campaigns on peaceful coexistence and conflict resolution
-
Promotion of traditional conflict resolution practices and local leadership involvement
We believe that peace is not just the absence of war, but the presence of dignity, respect, and opportunity for all.
